UNDERPINNED CULTURAL COLUMNS
UnderPinned is a freelancing magazine and tech platform, forging a community in an otherwise lonely industry of solo workers. I began writing for the publication shortly after it was founded in 2018 as a Theatre Reviewer and Cultural Columnist/Reviewer. Since finishing my column in February 2020, I've continued to contribute freelance reviews and features and have had over 40 articles published with the magazine.
My columns explored cultural histories, and contemporary representations through discussing a range of topics from the Punk movement, to Football, tote bags, AI and the Edinburgh Fringe, as well as more politically engaged subjects such as homelessness and the inaccessibility of mainstream arts/culture venues. My work is illustrated by Oscar Price, with the exception of 'The Joy of Cultural Reviewing', which was illustrated by Jon McCormack.
