I am an experienced Senior Bookseller who's worked at independent bookshops 'The Word' in New Cross, 'Phlox Books' in Leyton and Waterstones' Hampstead, Camden and LSE branches. My literary influences selectively include Maggie Nelson, Hanif Kureishi, Kathy Acker and Samuel Beckett; who I wrote my BA dissertation on with regards to language and disability in Molloy, Not I and Worstward Ho. I enjoy writing prose and poetry alongside journalistic writing and I am adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
I am currently undertaking my second year of part-time study for an MA in Contemporary Literature, Culture and Theory at KCL where I am a prose editor for the KCL Journal. I also edit and co-founded the poetry anthology Away With Words - Selected Verse. More information on this can be found in the website section.
I have worked as Editorial Administrator and Editorial Admin Assistant at Picador, Pan Macmillan, on temporary contracts totaling 10 weeks. Prior to this, I undertook extensive work experience in Publishing (Penguin Random House, Janklow & Nesbit, Jonathan Clowes) and Journalism (The Observer New Review, The Times Magazine). I am looking to build a career either within Publishing or Journalism.
I have a First Class Honours degree in BA English & Comparative Literature from Goldsmiths College.
I am a paid and contracted Cultural Columnist for UnderPinned Magazine.
